"The miracle is this - the more we share, the more we have."
- Leonard Nimoy
As the leading non-profit charity, the YMCA of the Foothills is dependent on the generosity of the community to support and endow our programs. Imagine the possibilities....
- A place where the gift of health is offered everyday
- A place where kids are given the chance to explore their potential
- A place where no one is turned away because of an inability to pay
Imagine the YMCA of the Foothills and you will find that and much more. We can not however, do this alone. We need you. Donating to the YMCA is easy and there are a number of different programs available for you to share your gifts.
Annual Community Support Campaign
Each spring, hundreds of YMCA volunteers reach out to the community for gifts that are needed for a wide variety of programs and services. These programs may include counseling and referrals for seniors, after school sports and art programs for middle school children, and financial support that is available for camp scholarships, membership and program assistance. Through this campaign your gift may be applied to our General Fund or you may designate your gift to a specific program or area.
Endowments
Endowments are gifts of any size that are designated funds that help provide long term funding for a specific activity or program. Endowment funds are critical because they provide a consistent income flow to secure programs for generations to come and they protect principal amounts, even during economic fluctuations. Endowment gifts of $10,000 or greater may be named in honor of the donor or designated individual or group. We are happy to accept gifts of cash or stock, however we suggest you contact your legal or tax adviser to determine what best suits your needs.
Bequests
An estate gift is an excellent way to build the long term strength of the YMCA and leave a lasting legacy. Remembering the YMCA in your will or living trust with a fixed amount gift, specific asset or percentage of your estate benefits not only the YMCA, but may bring you positive tax advantages. Once you have decided to make an estate gift to the YMCA, you will become a member of the Heritage Club. We recommend you discuss this opportunity with your family and your attorney and then contact Rick Dennis, Director of Development at
www.rdennis@ymcafoothills.org to further discuss your gift opportunities.
